visiting Bologna

From 3-9 april 2017 I will be visiting Italy. A small reading tour in honour of my nomination for the Premio Strega. I will make my appearance on the childrens bookfair in Bologna, but we will also visit some school and libraries. I’m talking in plural now, because Anna Becchi (translator, organisator, chefcook and literairy bulldozer) will accompany me on the trip. She said: ‘Bologna is a dangerous city.’ I already got visions of the Italian maffia but the danger appears to come from an unexpected (culinairy) angle: fresh pasta and pizza and icecream. Italy in spring, what a punishment.
